Ooo! Gen!Fic, who knew?
Aug. 7th, 2009 02:39 pmTitle: Devarication
Disclaimer: Own these characters, G. Lucas does. Making money, I am not.
Rating: PG for mention of youngling slaughter.
Charaters: Palpatine, Anakin and Sate Pestage.
Pairing: Mention of Padme/Anakin. (unrequited Palpakin if you squint)
Word Count: 2,237
Summary: A rewrite of that moment after Windu's death when Anakin faces the music.
Author's Note: I’m sorry George Lucas, but why – oh why? - do neither Anakin nor Palpatine address the fact that Palpy's face just melted? Seriously! It seemed to me that this scene was too short in the movie. It is, after all, one of the defining moments in RotS. This was quite hard to write, at least the Anakin stuff, because, quite frankly, what PLANET is Anakin on during this scene?? No sane one, by any means. [Note: It’s really hard to break away from second-person POV once you start down the dark path… forever will you have to backspace!]
What follows is a mix of the film, Stover's version, and my own imagination - written in one mamoth stream of consciousness, so forgive any errors.
( ...what have I done? )
