So... coming off official hiatus! Hurrah! I might still be a bit flaky given how busy I am at the moment, but I had to come back. 

I've changed my mood theme and I'm thinking about changing my journal style too. I still love it - but it's been too long. In any case, to celebrate, here's another piece of Harry Potter fanart:

Oh cool! I can't wait to see your sorting! (too bad I won't be able to vote, alas) I think mine will get votes for every house BUT Slytherin. Hehe. It took me days to finish my app and then as soon as I sent it in I thought of more things I should have done differently... ISN'T THAT ALWAYS HOW IT GOES. I can see you getting Ravenclaw votes...should be interesting!

Me too! I spent five days on my application, letting it percolate, and then as soon as I posted it I was like - omg, I should have put in this, this and this!

Yes, I see myself as a Ravenclaw/Slytherin mix, so I don't really know. But I have a strong personality and a lot of people who put strong characteristics in get squibbed for lying. So I thought about lying so I wouldn't get squibbed for lying, which seemed counter-intuitive to the process, really. So I figure if I get in I get in, and if not I have fic I want to write and art I want to draw which will get along just fine without another community.

Yeah - but I'm the kind of artist who needs a model to draw from. Voldemort is based on Phillip Broyles from em>Fringe. I just dip him in bleach, slice off his nose, and freaky-up his eyes, lol.

Also, I took a look at your Potter-reading and we are in the same zone for Harry Potter fanfiction. I love well-written Harry/Voldemort - already reading 'Wand Cores' and 'A Snake Named Voldemort' and read 'The Portrait' on your rec. Have you tried 'The Cave Incident' by Brainstorm1001?

Yeah, I noticed. I'm not in it for the pairing, though. I really prefer gen. And yes, I have read 'The Cave Incident'. It's very good, but more like original fiction than a Harry Potter fanfic, imo.

That's true - but I find her interpretation of Voldemort interesting. I've rather fallen into reading Harry/Voldemort as a pairing, but mainly I'm just a Voldemort fan and I don't mind stories which pair him with someone or keep him alone (as long as they don't magic him sweet sixteen and turn him into a sex monkey). *shudders*

Great to see you back! I'll be around off and on through August, until the semester starts again -- when I'll be around more regularly. I'm trying to meet some deadlines and to juggle feline commitments (man, having two kittens at the same time is a challenge!) and familial demands.
