Summary: Padmé tries to persuade Palpatine to step down. They have a telling conversation.
Author's Note: Inspired by this morning's lecture on Thucydides, book 2, in an indirect way. Our professor was explaining that in Thucydides' opinion, once you've acquired an empire the very worst thing you can do is relinquish it because then everyone, previously held in place by fear of your power, will turn on you and each other. So you have to hold on to that power. In this story, Palpatine and Padmé have an arguement about that. Also, I think "roiling" is my new fav word.
