Title: The Children of Set
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter and I am making no money with this fanfiction.
Summary: Tom Riddle, searching for a rare book in Cairo, finds more than he ever suspected.
Rating: PG-13 [torture and nudity]
Word Count: 5,600
Beta Editor: the lovely [livejournal.com profile] darth_eldritch
Author’s Notes: This was written for the [livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_elite "introduce a villain from another fandom" challenge and I'm finally posting it in my journal. The story mixes J.K. Rowling’s world with elements from the stories of H. P. Lovecraft and R. E. Howard, some of which later found their way into the Marvel universe. The villain I introduce is Father Set, accompanied by his children. Although I make use of Mythos lore in general, I particularly draw on The Nameless City and The Curse of Yig. It is not necessary to have read these stories in order to read this one, however. I was inspired by two drawings of Voldemort in Egypt by the amazing Lightpoint: In Search of Time and Bazaar. I must also recommend The Parselmouth, a fun website which renders words into “Parseltongue”. I had great fun getting the application to translate such phrases as: “Iä! Iä! Fhtagn! Tekeli-li!” into snake language. Creepily, the programme actually translates “Yig” into something frighteningly close to “Set”.

That is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange eons even death may die... )

Here's my first piece of art for one of my favourite pairings: Voldemort/Harry. It's called Things Unsaid. I'm usually all about faces (as you will see below), so I wanted to try to tell a story with just bodies for a change. The colouring of this was absolutely ruined by scanning. Voldemort's pearly skin is too subtle for the scanner!

Below are three individual sketches that eventually turned the Harry Potter/Leo Tolstoy image pictured on the right, which I did for the [livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_elite "fandom mash-up" + Love and War themed challenge (tied for third place!).

Title: The Forest Again
Word Count: 100
Rating: G

It’s a headlong, windborne rush of a journey – thought tumbling over thought with mile after mile – on footless, fleeting shadow. Harried by despair and driven onward by fear, crying out past fast-flying land and sea in a wordless shriek of thwarted fury.

Summer fills the forest, the same as when he’d left it: warm rocks, shallow streams, and a breeze rustling the leafy canopy. After coming so close, the sight dissolves his mind further into insanity. Eleven years. How many more? Will another even come? Is this to be my eternity?

He is not Lord Voldemort.

Voldemort would have won.

So here's another quick Lord Voldemort piece drawn late at night - the best time to draw Dark Lords, of course. Inspired by my book of Klimt's sketches.

ansketil: (lord voldemort)
More Lord Voldemort art. Because I'm too tired to write, too cold to watch media, and too awake to go to bed. I love drawing his strange serpentine features.

So... coming off official hiatus! Hurrah! I might still be a bit flaky given how busy I am at the moment, but I had to come back.

I've changed my mood theme and I'm thinking about changing my journal style too. I still love it - but it's been too long. In any case, to celebrate, here's another piece of Harry Potter fanart:

Breaking my hiatus to post the art I randomly did really late last night. Voldemort fanart inspired by Klimt's 'Medicine'.

(EDIT: Sorry, livejournal was being irritating and I accidentally posted this twice. Apologies to your f-lists.)

Because that art tag needed more posts. Just a basic sketch of Lord Voldemort and Hermione Granger having a talk, for my fanfiction You Know Who? I haven't drawn Hermione before, and I'm not satisfied with her but meh, it's 12.29am - I'm only going to make her look worse if I keep going. I like Voldemort though - but I've drawn him before. He's starting to look about what I envision. More depth that my last attempt at him.

Time for some icons! Because I've yet to find Voldemort colouring I really love and I haven't made any icons in a while. 16 Harry Potter and 5 Star Wars ones.

Title: Down the Plot Hole
Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter. I am merely playing with Rowling's toys.
Warnings: Crude language and classical references.
Rating: PGR
Characters: Harry Potter, Lord Voldemort
Summary: Harry Potter mistakenly decides to go back in time and save the world! Fortunately, Lord Voldemort is there to prevent Harry destroying it in the process. Time-turner meta!fic - strictly canon compliant!
Author's Notes: This just randomly appeared in my head fully-formed, I suspect it's cause was discussing meta fanfiction with [livejournal.com profile] zigsternenstaub. It's about... why characters aren't allowed time-travel plots (except the one) in Harry Potter. Please, forgive me for Voldemort's classical references. Rowling herself quotes Aeschylus at the beginning of Deathly Hallows. I am referencing the great debate in Aristophanes' Frogs, where Aeschylus and Euripides are arguing who is the greater poet. Voldemort is concerned about the way villainous characters end up in Aeschylus' plays, as opposed to those of Euripides. I believe he'd like to see himself as a Medea. Wow, I've spent longer explaining it, than it features in the story! On with the action!

I've always been very dissatisfied with how the Harry Potter films handled Lord Voldemort's appearance. So here is a drawing in watercolour pencils which tries to capture how I first imagined him to be, surrounded by lovely Avada Kedavra green. As always, it looks better viewed in its original size. :)

Title: You Know Who?
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter and am making no money from this story. The characters belong to J. K. Rowling; I am just playing with them for my own amusement and hopefully those of others.
Rating: T
Characters: Hermione Granger, Lord Voldemort, plus the general cast of characters appearing in Deathly Hallows.
Pairing: Hermione/Voldemort (note: when it says Voldemort it means Voldemort, not Tom Riddle).
Summary: What would you do if you woke up with no memory, looking like a monster, stuck in a room with a giant snake? Well, Lord Voldemort is in exactly that situation when magic brings him to the home of Hermione Granger.
Author's Notes: The sixth chapter of the rewrite. Another big chunk of Deathly Hallows is in this chapter, again necessary for the story – for Voldemort's character development, to be precise. I always liked rereading this particular bit in the book, though, so hopefully all of you won't mind.

Chapter Six: You Know Who

Author's Notes: The fifth chapter of the rewrite. I've basically resigned myself to linking you guys to the fanfiction.net version - which I hate doing! - just because livejournal requires me to go through and redo all my italics, and because of my fond love of italics, I just can't face doing it. Comment in this post, or at ff.net, as you prefer.

Chapter Five; The Riddle House

Title: You Know Who?

Rating: PGR
Word Count: 8,000

Author's Notes: The fourth chapter in the rewrite. This chapter covers Harry's birthday and the wedding at the Burrow. Meanwhile, Lord Voldemort becomes adept at wand-less magic and remembers a thing or two. There are several scenes which had to be taken straight from the book for this chapter, but it's a long chapter and hopefully I've put in enough material to still make it different and exciting (as well as chucking in some pretty huge dollops of foreshadowing!). I promise that from the next chapter onwards the story will diverge rapidly from the narrative in Deathly Hallows. I should probably point out that, although I know canon!Voldemort is right-handed, in this story he's left-handed - it's just a head!canon thing I have.

Author's Notes: This is the third chapter of my rewrite. A reasonably short chapter, I'm afraid, but jam-packed full of stuff. I really don't want to make it seem like Harry is the bad guy in this chapter, so I hope he comes across as real rather than a git.

Author’s Notes: This is a rewrite of a story I wrote a few years ago and which I’ve been secretly posting in the Pit of Voles over the last month. My Star Wars muse was becoming overwrought, so I've taken it on holiday to the world of Harry Potter.
